Trip to California ended in Wildfires....

I went to California to spend some time with one of my good friends and do a little shopping with my mom. We went to the park, the zoo, watched the CMA's and ate lots of food. That weekend my mom and I went to the Swap Meet to do some SERIOUS Christmas shopping on Saturday. While at the swap meet we got a call from my little sister saying that the fire looked like it was getting close. We thought at first she might have been over reacting. So, we continued to shop for a few more things. About 20 minutes later we got another call from her again, this time crying say she was scared and the whole sky was black. As we rushed to our cars to get home we realized that we were going to have to take side streets home because the freeways were all closed due to the fires. I called my in-laws that live right up the street from my mom and they went and picked up my brothers and sisters and took them to a safe haven. Thanks again to them for all of their help. The closer we got the more crazy it was. We turned onto my moms street and looked up to see the house right across from my moms completely engulfed in flames. We rushed into the house grabbed a few things and were off to meet up with my brother and sister and my girls. It was like some thing out of a movie. People were running in to houses crying and yelling. It was pure craziness.

Two days later we returned to the house. It was still standing but had alot of smoke damage. We were all counting our blessings seeing how many people lost their homes. We want them all to know that we pray for them every day. Thanks to all the firefighter and police offices for all they did.

On a sad note: Many homes were lost and one of those homes was a very good friend of mine from high school. Her parents lost there beautiful home in Hidden Hills. Please pray for the Flake Family. They were all ok but EVERYTHING is gone.

Famlies are Forever

This evening I went and payed respect to a very dear friend of mine and her family for the loss of their 17 day old little boy Rock. Ever since I heard the news, it has not seemed real. A flood of questions run through your mind. Why....Why so soon.. What could have been done to prevent such a tragedy? How wonderful it is to have the gospel in our life's and know that they will see their son again. How comforting it is to know that we are not alone in times like this. I am thankful for my husband and the temple covenants that we have made. I love my family and am grateful to have the knowledge that we can be together forever. I am thankful to be a Mother and feel blessed for all that I have. My heart is full of gratitude for my Saviour for all that he has done for me.

Our fun weekend with our visitors..

This weekend we had our very good friends from California come and stay with us. We had such a great time and the kids loved playing together. We ate alot of junk, road on the four wheeler, played at the play ground, took some last minute family pictures (kinda missed the sun set but still got a couple cute ones), went out to eat a couple times, made bows and stayed up way to late.

We love having friends come and visit and are sad when they leave. Thanks to Brandon and Erin for making our weekend so fun.

Here are ALOT of pictures of us on the quad (sorry, could not choose). Dave, Skye and the boys met up with us on Saturday for a couple hours. The kids all had a blast on the quad and playing in the dirt.

Haaaaaalllllllloooweeeennnnn

We had such a great Halloween. The night before Halloween me and the girls went to our ward Trunk or treat. Which was so much fun!!!! Kylie had a great time walking around the cake walk, going fishing and of course trick or treating. But we missed Mike ALOT because he was at school. On Halloween we went over to Kylie's cute little cousins house and took a couple pictures with them. It was kinda funny because the girls were actually really scared of the boys. But as you can see below they were three of the cutest monsters I have ever seen. Well, I mean COOLEST monsters. After a little while the girls stopped crying for us to take a couple quick pictures. We then took the girls out for a little while and got WAY to much candy. It was fun to watch Kylie go up to the doors and Britain had no problem just hanging out in her stroller sucking on lollipops.

Until next year.........
